Vineman take 2.
Can’t say going into this year’s Vineman was with a burst of confidence. Last few weeks have been hell for me and unfortunately my body is too often a sucker reflection of my mind. Nonetheless without going into any detail, I gave it what I had.
Swim was slower than I expected but shaved off 3 minutes from last year. Bike was thankfully a bit faster than I planned and although no complaints (aside from me still being slow?), I hope plan to add another 2mph to avg speed for 2013. Run started off nice and strong with 6:30’s for about first 3 miles but then slowed way down. Energizer bunny in me was very gone and stomach comfort went downhill. Tried to stay on top of it but ended up with a 1:41 run. Overall though I shaved off over 47 minutes from last year and ended up with a 5:02. Met some cool people, had fun, and loved the course. 4:30 next year or bust.
